Ackerly, B. (2008) Feminist Methodological Reflection. In A. Klots and D. Praksh (eds.) Qualitative Methods in International Relations: A pluralist guide. New York: Palgrave. Pp. 28-42.

Feminist research is not solely for women or feminists, it is a method in which the researcher partakes in reflection at all stages and seeks to reveal the silence of the marginalized and unveiling unseen experiences. Practical and ethical dilemmas must be taken into consideration. Reflection at all stages does not only mean reflection of the research on is doing, it means reflection in ones role in this research and the role of this research within the academic and social field.

The concept of reflection at all stages is particularly relevant in terms of academic research. One must understand the data collected and their influence on this data in order to have truly academic work.

The concept of doing research to share voices and uncover issues that are usually not talked about is something that is relevant to the development to my thesis and goals of research in general.
